Val commenced her career marketing real estate at the beginning of 2000.

As her family commitments lessened, she found she had more time on her hands and so in 2003 commenced extramural study through Massey University. In July 2005 she became an Associate of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand, before graduating from Massey University in 2006 with a Graduate Diploma in Business Studies (Real Estate). The above qualification included papers on Real Estate Studies; Planning & Property Structures; Valuation; Negotiation; Management; Advanced Management; Law; and Arbitration & Mediation.

Through travel, various occupations, community activities and her experiences as a mother, she has developed an extensive range of skills enabling her to deal with a wide range of situations and personalities. She has found these skills to be of great benefit to her clients when fulfilling her role as a real estate sales and marketing consultant. Val has a practical nature, is patient, and sensitive to the needs of others. She is able to put priorities in place when necessary and remains firmly optimistic at all times.

With the support of Murray McGuire (her husband and Personal Assistant), Val ensures attention to detail and regular contact and communication with all her clients in their real estate selling and buying activities.
